LOS ALTOS, California - January 8, 2009 - Baytech Corporation has obtained 2009 EPA and CARB certifications for Baytech's compressed natural gas (CNG) fueled GM 8.1L heavy-duty engine. The Baytech CNG 8.1L engine is certified for use in the GMC Topkick and Chevrolet Kodiak C4500/5500 and Workhorse Custom Chassis heavy-duty vehicle chassis. Popular vehicle applications include shuttle buses, delivery trucks, flatbeds, utility bodies, street sweepers, and step vans.

These are the first 2009 model year CNG pickups and vans to be certified by EPA and CARB.

Baytech's 2009 dedicated CNG pickups and vans are certified to California Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle standards, allowing them carpool lane access in California. Baytech also offers EPA certified dual fuel (CNG or gasoline) versions of the 2009 pickups that are available in states that do not require CARB certification.
The CNG systems incorporate Baytech's gaseous fuel sequential Multi-Point Fuel Injection system technology. Baytech's CNG engine calibration software is fully integrated with the vehicleís control system to achieve high performance and low emissions, and engine diagnostics functions are accessed via standard gasoline scanner tools.

Vehicles included in these new certifications include cab forward, cutaway van, chassis cab and custom chassis models.
In the heavy-duty vehicle category (over 14,000 lb GVWR), Baytech's new CNG certifications cover the 6.0L engines in the Chevrolet and GMC W4500, Isuzu NPR HD, Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana 4500 Cutaway Van, and Workhorse heavy duty chassis. BAYTECH ANNOUNCES 8.1L AND 6.0L CNG AND PROPANE ENGINE CERTIFICATIONS
LOS ALTOS, CALIF - May 5, 2008 - Baytech Corporation has received 2008 EPA and CARB certifications for Baytech's compressed natural gas (CNG) and propane fueled GM 8.1L and 6.0L heavy-duty engines. The heavy-duty engines are now available for new 2008 and 2009 model year vehicles. The engines are offered in both dedicated CNG or propane and dual fuel (CNG or gasoline and propane or gasoline) configurations in all 50 states.
Baytech's CNG and propane 8.1L engines are certified for use in the GMC Topkick/Chevrolet Kodiak C Series and Workhorse heavy-duty vehicles.
